Accessibility Statement

How accessible this website is, the problems we know about, and how to tell us about one we have missed.

We want a landlord to be able to get a price and read our guidance regardless of how they use the web. This statement is written honestly: it lists what works and what does not.

What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. We have not been independently audited, so this statement is based on our own testing.

What should work

  • The whole site can be operated by keyboard, and focus is visible wherever you are.
  • Text reflows to a single column on a phone with no horizontal scrolling, and can be zoomed to 200% without loss of content.
  • Headings are in a real hierarchy, so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
  • The pricing tabs are proper tabs — arrow keys move between them and their state is announced.
  • Every animation stops if your device is set to reduce motion. Prices, text and layout do not depend on animation to be readable.
  • The site works with JavaScript disabled: prices, guidance and both pricing panels are in the page as plain HTML.

Problems we know about

  • Small text in our accent red. The red we use for section labels and small captions measures about 4.2:1 against the paper background. That passes AA for large text but falls just short of the 4.5:1 needed for small text. Fixing it means darkening the accent for those elements and is on our list.
  • Some decorative figures lack full descriptions. The technical drawings are marked as decorative where the same information is given in the surrounding text, but two of them carry detail that is not fully duplicated in words.
  • The specimen report figure is a stylised graphic rather than a real document, and its content is not exposed as a table.
  • Third-party form. Our enquiry form comes from a plugin. We have styled it for contrast and labelling, but we do not control every attribute it outputs.

If any of these stops you doing what you came to do, tell us and we will give you the information another way — including reading a price or a report over the telephone.

Getting this information another way
