Who writes the guidance on this site, what it is based on, and where its limits are.
This site publishes guidance about landlord electrical safety alongside selling an inspection service. That combination creates an obvious tension, and this policy is how we manage it.
It is general information to help a landlord understand their duties, what an inspection involves and what a report means. It is not legal advice and it is not a substitute for a qualified person looking at your specific installation. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official channel of any government body or local authority.
Our guidance describes the position in England. Requirements in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland differ and we say so where it matters.
Where we state a legal requirement, a deadline or a code definition, it comes from the source, not from another commercial website.
Articles are drafted for [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] and reviewed for technical accuracy by a qualified electrician competent to carry out and certify an EICR before publication. Where an article is reviewed or updated, the date shown is the date of that review.
Where drafting tools are used to prepare text, the technical content is still checked by a competent person before it is published. We do not publish unreviewed generated text as guidance.
Published prices are the prices we charge for the tiers described, and the figure for a specific property is confirmed in writing before anything is booked. We do not advertise a price we do not intend to honour. Turnaround times are typical, not guaranteed, and we describe them that way.
Mistakes are corrected openly under our Corrections Policy, which sets out what gets a published note and what does not.
If you have a question about this policy, or you want to exercise a right set out in it, reach us on 020 3386 1854, by email at [GENERAL ENQUIRY EMAIL], or through the enquiry form. We aim to acknowledge within two working days.
